I'm so glad you're here!  I am a trauma informed, certified yoga teacher (CYT500); along with being a householder, a mother, a wife, an adventurer, and a servant to the Infinite.  I adore family, friends, travel, nature, animals, and connecting with others.

I have been experiencing and studying yoga since 2006, both in studios, throughout the world, and privately within my home.   I have come to recognize the gifts, gems and presence associated with having a personal, home practice -  a sadhana.  

​

Originally, I am from Western New York and moved to Florida in 2011.  When I moved to Florida, I felt lost and disconnected after leaving my home studio, family and

life-long friends.  Through these practices of (yoga, mantra, mudra and meditation), I found a way to connect not only with myself but also with others, and it grounded me in my new environment.

​

Through the gift of technology, I register for and completed the 500-hour, Yoga Alliance Certification at Yoga Farm Ithaca, via their virtual training program.  After completing the programs, it became clear that I wanted to collaborate with like-minded yogis offering affordable and convenient ways to maintain consistency in practice.  This is how Sacred Place In Space was born.

I am excited and passionate about sharing these life-changing, self-care practices with you from a trauma informed lens.  I believe, when we "show up" for ourselves, we automatically give others permission to do the same thing.  Allowing us to “Be The Change” we wish to see in our world; as we truly are all one.   I look forward to working with you to create the changes you wish to see, feel and experience. ​

I am excited to share with you the many ways and styles of yoga that light me up. One point I’m adamant about is that “yoga” doesn’t mean one thing, and it does not automatically imply workout; you don’t have to look or move a certain way to “do” it. I’m an example of this, as someone with post-tumor-related facial weakness and a lived-in body. So if ever your inner voice whispers, “I can’t,” I promise that you can.  You won’t find this instructor looking to “whip you into shape”—or any shape that looks like it belongs in Cirque du Soleil. Those asanas are admirable—and they do not reflect the vast and deep essence of yoga, in my opinion. My philosophy embraces trauma-informed language, politely inviting you to commit—yes, commit—to working WITH your body, your mind, your heart, and your energy. I want to help you tap into the innately empowered, inspired, radiant core of your being, so you can move through your day feeling amazing and alive.

 

I didn’t start my yoga teaching path till well into mid-life. As the “grandma” of my cohort in my ashram immersion at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch in upstate NY, I got my butt kicked. And, you know what? I felt supremely alive! The experience ignited a fire in me to challenge my whole self—body, mind, and spirit—to pursue a life aligned with wisdom teachings. It awakened a deep longing to walk this path of inspiration, wonder, and discovery and to share, share, share that spark with anyone who had the desire to receive this precious gift.
